The shortened MLB season has come to an end. The Los Angeles Dodgers win the 2020 World Series over the Tampa Bay Rays. Series ended with the Dodgers winning the series in game 6 by a score of 3-1  on October 27. The Dodgers finished the regular season at 43-17, in the shortened 60 game race due to COVID-19.

The season may have been shortened but had proved to be just as important and competitive to athletes across the league. Players speak of the competitiveness and the constant grind with games being played at a rapid pace the ongoing COVID pandemic in the world.

Players across the league have expressed the hardships and rules that go with playing through a pandemic. They are forced to give up their lifestyles and their constant everyday tendencies that they may go through. Players say the lack of food in the clubhouse and game day rituals just are not the same as they have been in the past. The clubhouse and practices are giving players a new way to better themselves as people, teammates, and players. The pandemics allows the players to grow and have a different perspective and privilege for playing the game.

The Dodgers postseason went fairly smoothly in the beginning sweeping their first two series of the extended postseason.  They take the first 2 of 3 from the Brewers winning the series easily and then taking the next 3 of 5 from the Padres. Following with the NLDS with Braves things got interesting. The Braves challenged the Dodgers all the way to a game 7 where the Dodgers pulled through putting them into the World Series again since 2017. This is the second pennant that they have won in 4 years while losing to the World Series Champions in the other 2 playoff series.

The Dodgers previously lost the World Series in 2017 to a cheating Astros team. The Dodgers have been seeking revenge on a team that had cheated their way to an unethical and tainted victory of a World Series. After the Astros had won the series, the accusations and proof of cheating became known in the post winning and the Astros were not stripped of their title.

Finally, the Dodgers are presented with a chance to win the World Series in 2020. During the seventh inning of game 6, third basemen, Justin Turner, was informed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was pulled from the game. Turner was heartbroken and wanted nothing else but to be out there playing for his team. He was put into clubhouse room and told to isolate. Well the pursing efforts of his team and them eventually winning he wanted nothing else but to celebrate the efforts his team put forth to win.

Turner enters the field with his wife to receive the trophy and celebrate with his teammates. Turner is seen with his mask off celebrating and taking the team picture around all the other players and other people on the field, putting them all at risk for the virus.

Following this incident it caused such out roar and concern from the MLB and ensuing players in the league. Dave Roberts, Dodgers head coach, speaks of the incident and tell us the status of Turner and the Dodgers victory.
